KIA has recently unveiled a new Carens Clavis in the market and started accepting bookings for the car as well. But a decisive, step taken by the brand to continue to sell the older Carens as well as the Clavis has raised many questions. While it was believed that both the models would exist along with each other without any changes, KIA rejigged the older Carens line up recently.
As per a recent Update, KIA has phased out all the older variants of the Carens MPV except the premium (O). The older Carens would now be available in a single variant the premium (O). The variant would be offered along with Petrol and Diesel variants across the country.
Carens (O) Optional
The Carens Premium (O) price starts at Rs 11.41 lakh for normally aspirated 1.5 l Petrol engine as well as a 1.5 L Turbo Petrol Engine with iMT gearbox that costs Rs 12.65 lakh. Beyond that the car would also be available with a 1.5L diesel variant with a price tag of Rs 13.16 Lakh(ex-showroom). Some of the notable features in the Carens Premium would be 2nd row one touch easy tumble down seats, roof mounted 2nd and 3rd row AC vents, dual tone semi leatherette black and indigo upholstery. Beyond these, the users would also get 3rd row 50:50 split seats with reclining and full flat folding, 5 SUB Type C ports, keyless entry, Electrically adjustable ORVMs and 8 inch touchscreen android auto & apple car play.
KIA Carens Safety Features
KIA has always considered safety to be a profound reason behind their success in India. Hence, the Older Carens would still be available with all wheel disc brakes, 6 airbags, TPMS, and safety models such as ESC,VSM,BAS,HAC,DBC & ABS.
While the variant wise pricing of the new Clavis have not been revealed yet the existing Optional (O) variant of the older Carens is still a profound alternative that users can go for. Since the Clavis is being dubbed as a more premium version of the MPV it is possible the users would only be able to get HTE or HTK in this price range. The Optional (O) has similar features as that of the two entry level variants of the Clavis which are the HTE and HTK. Whether the older models be more rewarding or not would be revealed once KIA discloses the variant wise prices of the new Clavis.
