Nissan Unveils Its 6th Gen Micra! Specs, And Features Revealed- An Ideal EV For India?

Nissan Micra has been a formidable moniker for Nissan, over the years the Micra brand has been under continual development to provide for the changing needs of the users. Nissan has now taken the cover of its sixth generation Micra which would be a fully electric vehicle. The car has been revealed to be a twin to the Renaults electric 5, this would be the first time that the car is being sold without a conventional powertrain.

The 6th gen Micra has a refreshed look with a SUV like design, its style mimics the mini copper in certain aspects. The New Micra would be close to 4 meters long and about 1.8 meters wide. The car has been designed as a an easy daily urban runabout. The car would be available in a 5 door configuration.

Extensive Range And Impressive Charging 

The Nissan Micra EV would be available with Two Battery Options a 40 KWH and 52 KWH battery. The claimed range with the 52 KWH battery would be  around 408 Km. To ensure that users can experience seamless mobility the car has been equipped with the best in class charging apparatus. Nissan has given their new Micra 100 KW DC charger that enables quick charging from 15% to 80% in 30 minutes. To ensure that the weather does not impact the range of the vehicle, the battery has a heat pump as well as a cooling apparatus that would ensure that the onboard batteries are at the optimal temperature while the vehicle is mobile.

To ensure that users do not have to stray out of their way for using external devices, the vehicle would provide V2l vehicle to load technology to ensure better usage. The Micra Moniker had been on sale in India as well from 2010 all the way till 2020. During this time the car went through facelifts and was available with a petrol and diesel powertrains. Since Nissan has been planning to regain its market share in India it has indicated towards the future launch of an all new Duster and a 7 seater Triber. Nissan has not showcased any impetus to bring the recently launched Nissan Micra EV to India. Maybe the brand might bring these in limited numbers as a Halo vehicles to drive up sales for the existing models.
