Nissan has recently made the world privy with the long-term plans that would bring it back as a prominent manufacturer. The new generation Nissan Leaf is supposed to be of integral importance for the comeback, as the car would be of inherent importance for the brand to regain its prominence in the overseas market. Beyond the Micra the brand has also revealed plans to launch the new Nissan Juke as well.
Nissan Micra EV Details
Micra moniker has had a veritable history in the Indian automotive industry, the ICE models of the car were once the go-to choice for many. But the recent EV powertrain version launch would be the 5th Gen model of the car. The moniker would now be used for EV cars only as it seems and the new Micra EV would be sold in two variants with 40 KWH and 52 KWH battery pack options. The larger unit of the two would be able to provide the user with over a 400 Km range on a single charge.
Nissan Micra EV Platform
The Micra EV would share its CMF-BEV platform with the underpinnings of Renault 5. Both brands work in conjunction with each other and would be manufacturing the new Zero Emission Micra in France. The car would go through a slew of exterior design changes that would include a circular LED headlight. The wheel arches have been given black cladding and slimmer rearview mirrors make way for traditional ones as well. The interior has not been repealed yet.

New Generation Nissan Leaf
Nissan has not revealed the battery pack that the car would be equipped with, but the EV would have over 598 Km of range, the car would be based on the CMF-EV platform, the platform has been used in several cars such as the much larger Nissan Ariya. The design of the new leaf has been optimized to ensure a lower drag coefficient than before. Nissan has shared no prospective plans to launch the Micra and the Leaf in India.
