Hyundai Exter EV: As the electric vehicle (EV) landscape continues to evolve, companies are rapidly adapting to this trend, seeking to carve their niche in the burgeoning EV market. With electric two-wheelers leading the charge, the demand for electric four-wheelers is also gaining momentum, signalling a transformative shift in the automotive industry.
Among the pioneers in this movement, Tata and Mahindra’s electric cars have already made a considerable impact. In the realm of electric two-wheelers, Ola’s electric scooter has been a significant player. Today, we’re delving into the realm of electric SUVs, particularly the Hyundai Exter electric version, which is poised for a potential 2024 launch.
Evolution of Hyundai Exter: Electrification in Progress
Hyundai recently introduced the Hyundai Exter. However, recognizing the surging demand for electric SUVs, the company is diligently working on an electric variant of the Exter. The electric version of the Exter has been spotted undergoing testing for the first time, heightening the anticipation for its expected launch in the upcoming year.
Unleashing the Power: Battery and Range Expectations
Insights garnered from media reports suggest that the Hyundai Exter electric version is likely to feature a robust battery pack ranging from 25 to 30 kWh, ensuring an estimated range of 300 to 350 kilometres. Notably, Hyundai is concurrently developing the Casper EV, anticipated to house a substantial 40 kWh battery pack.
Beyond this, Hyundai has previously introduced premium electric vehicles like the Ioniq 5 and Hyundai Kona Electric in the Indian market. The Hyundai Exter electric variant is slated to join the ranks as an entry-level offering. Akin to its internal combustion engine counterpart, the Exter EV’s design is projected to maintain a cohesive semblance. Potential adjustments, including EV insignia on the front, could differentiate the electric variant, as evident from the prototype observed during testing.
Bridging Innovation and Safety with Unparalleled Features
The Hyundai Exter electric version is poised to introduce pioneering features, including a smart electric sunroof, dual-camera dashcam, paddle shifters, rear AC vents, footwell lighting, wireless phone charging, multi-language support (spanning 12 languages), and Alexa voice command integration. Safety is paramount, featuring six standard airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, a hill start to assist control, a rearview camera with dynamic guidelines, and electronic stability control.
The Awaited Price Revelation
Hyundai recently unveiled the Exter with an inaugural price of Rs 5.99 lakh. However, specific details regarding the price of the electric iteration remain undisclosed, adding an element of intrigue and anticipation.
