Honda, is well aware of the rising competition in the two wheeler segment and over the years it has patented various vehicles that could possibly be launched in the Future. While the brands patent scooters mostly for IPR purposes to reserve the moniker names mostly, in a few instances, these patents do end up being launched. Following the similar directive Honda has recently filed a new patent for an updated version of the Honda Scoopy.
Honda Scoopy International Variant
The scoopy was first patented years back in 2022, Honda has now patented the 2025 iteration, which would have a refreshed new font fascia and a round LED headlight with DRL. The scooter would now be equipped with a new full LCD instrument cluster and a eco indicator, fuel consumption and service indicator. Overseas variant is powered by a 109.5 cc air cooled engine that produces close to 9 Hp and a peak torque of 9.2 Nm paired with a CVT transmission.

The same engine powers the smaller Dio and the Activa in India. Another model that is sold overseas but has been patented in India and powered by this same engine. Its known as the beat overseas.
As per an Autocar report, Honda has patented most of its global products in India solely for IPR purposes, and they would never be launched here. These include the NPF125,CB190TR And CG160 and a whole bunch of other international products as well. Such practices are often done to preserve and protect the products name and design, and its highly unlikely that scoopy would be launched in INDIA. The Scoopy is also sold in south East Asian markets like Indonesia and Philippines.
